HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM GATLINBURG & PIGEON FORGE, TENNESSEE

Just days after one of the worst blizzards to hit East Tennessee in twenty years, we have sunny 65 degree weather in the Smoky Mountains on the last day of the year 2010.  Thousands of people were snowed into their cabin rentals, the day after Christmas, this week.  This made national news and was featured on a local news network.  After being snowed in or out of cabins all week, some travellers have still said it was one of the best, most beautiful Christmases they've experienced with their families.  Although some people who had their family vacations extended unintentionally due to weather, most tourists still enjoyed it by getting closer to their families, taking in the outdoors, and visiting Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort.

Still it's easier to have weather than allows easy access to the downtown Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge for its' attractions & restaurants.  No matter what way you cut it, it has been a very interesting week in the world of vacation rentals & travel!  Mother Nature likes to play little jokes on us from time to time, so it has been amusing getting blasted with weather in the teens & double-digit snowfall at the beginning of the week, while heating up to a sunny 65 degree weather at the end of this week (and the year, if you will).

If you haven't made your New Year Resolutions, now may be a good time.  2010 may been a challenge for our country economically, but its these times that make us appreciate life & family even more.  This New Year, I wish good tidings to all!  Remember to check out Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Ober Gatlinburg, Sevierville, the Smoky Mountains, and other popular Tennessee travel spots this New Year! Thanks for coming to our beautiful area in 2010, and if you couldn't make it...we'll expect to see you this year (after the Ball drops)!  Reserve your 2011 vacation cabin rentals early this new year.  Happy New 2011 Year!!!
