March Events to Celebrate in the Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee

  1. Spring Break -- Most Universities have Spring Break the 2nd or 3rd week of March.  If you're planning a Spring vacation, but not a Spring Break vacation, you'll save a lot of money and headache by avoiding the typical Spring Break hotspots. Beaches will be crowded and expensive from late February until late April.  So why not consider the Mountains for a Spring Break for your group of friends or family. On the flip side, you can take advantage of Spring Break travel opportunities even if you're not a student or parent. Lots of amusement parks and other such attractions extend their hours or offer special prices to grab some Spring Break traffic, and the crowds are still much smaller than in the summer.  The Smoky Mountains offer many fun, active things to do like river rafting, hiking, ziplining, golf, shopping, & so much more! Cabin rentals offer special discounts for your family vacation, Spring Break getways, or Romantic escapes!
  2. St. Patrick's Day --

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated not only as a mark of respect to a great saint but also as a reflection of the cultural tradition of Ireland and the growing sense of its nationalistic pride. Today, non-Irish people too relish the idea of being Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. Wearing green color (associated with the green leaved Shamrock), consuming Irish food and drink, and parades mark the festivities.  Impressive parades are held in many cities of the U.S.  Great fun & food in Tennessee. Warm company, traditional Irish music, live sporting events and friendly Irish Staff. Check out the Irish pubs of Tennessee and keep the spirit of Ireland alive! Guinness in Tennessee - sure what more could you want! You get it all at the Irish Pubs in Tennessee starting with a great Irish welcome.  Drink Green Beer at the Smoky Mountain Brewery & other water holes.  You'll love how beautiful the Smoky Mountains are during this Spring holiday!
  3. March Madness --
March Madness aka "The Big Dance" refers to the annual single-elimination NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament. This tournament, held late March through early April, is a single-elimination tournament in which 65 teams compete against each other over the course of a couple weeks for a shot at a national championship.  During this time, teams will be moving up one tier at a time, working through to the Sweet Sixteen, the Elite Eight, the Final Four and eventually into the finals. This is the season where basketball nuts become crazy and cheer on their favorite team, praying for a championship.  Many friends, co-workers, and University alumni get together for March Madness to create their own bracket contests or pools.  The winner is usually adorned with a day of fame, prizes, and awards for their skills to pick the best NCAA basketball team in the Land.  Some March Madness Clubs or Groups get together to celebrate the NCAA Tournament by renting a vacation cabin rental, watching the games, and enjoying the nightlife in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge.  This becomes an annual event, and often coincides with St. Patrick's Day.
There are many reasons to visit the Smoky Mountains in March.  These reasons definitely include Spring Break, St. Patrick's Day Celebrations, and March Madness.  Families, groups of friends, and couples come to share the joy and fun in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.  Come see how fun Tennessee can be!  Get your luxury cabin rental today!
