Where to Visit along the Blue Ridge Parkway (North Carolina-Tennessee)

1. Tail of the Dragon -- Crossing Deals Gap at the Tenn/N.C. state line, the Dragon, with 318 curves in 11 miles, is considered by many as one of the world's best motorcycling & sports car roads.  Anyone looking for an exciting highway will enjoy this stretch of U.S. 129
2. Pigeon Forge/Dollywood -- Tucked into the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge is home to music, attractions, shopping, & special events.  Many visitors head to Dollywood.  The park features music, crafts, plenty of down-home Southern cooking and mild-to-wild rides.  At least 40 live performances unfold every day.  Dollywood's Splash Country is a 25 acre water park, with water slides, children's areas plus a 25,000 square foot wave pool.  Luxury log cabin rentals are a fixture for accommodated vacationing families.
3. Gatlinburg -- Ride the trolley to visit unique and galleries, stroll downtown and visittop notch attractions and restaurants, then take the aerial tramway or chair lift for spectacular mountain views.
4. Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community -- This historic eight-mile loop has been designated a Tennessee Heritage Arts & Crafts Trail. Established in 1937, the artisans paint, whittle, sew, carve, & weave original works of art such as baskets, quilts, pottery, dolls, stained glass and watercolors in 80 shops and galleries.  The area also features cafes and lodging
5. Townsend -- Foothills Parkway, called the Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains, offers view after view of the park's majesty, climbing 18 miles up Chilhowee Mountain
